So many questions it is better to answer before the next regatta rather than the \u201cD\u201d day on board\u2026 So let\u2019s visit the yacht club\u2019s website to download the race instructions, Adrena is going to help us to get organized in calm.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<address><em><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/em><\/address>\n<address><em><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/em><\/address>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">PREPARING THE COURSE<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once the race instructions in hand, it is time to create the waypoints file and the courses file to be activated in Adrena during the race.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em;\">The waypoints file contains all the marks indicated in the race instructions; they will be used to build the courses afterwards :<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em;\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"align_center\" style=\"vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"Creation waypoint\" src=\"\" alt=\"Creation waypoint\" width=\"600\" height=\"457\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The courses file contains all the routes that the race committee could decide to launch according to the weather conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"middle\" style=\"vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\" alt=\"Parcours SPI OUEST\" width=\"600\" height=\"289\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thanks to the Standard and Pro versions, it is possible to create as many routes and waypoints files as you want in order to be able to load only the useful ones during the navigation. Saved on an USB stick, they can easily be transferred from a computer to another.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"162\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When creating a course plan, Adrena is integrating the notion of mark \u00ab\u00a0to round\u00a0\u00bb and of marks to \u00ab\u00a0let\u00a0\u00bb as indicated in the race instructions: some waypoints according to their position in the route are mandatory points of crossings. They should be labelled as marks \u201cto round\u201d at port or starboard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the example below, the marks \u201cchimere\u201d and \u201croche revision\u201d are labelled to be let at starboard :<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"Course modification\" src=\"\" alt=\"Course modification\" width=\"600\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The software takes into account the indications and draws the shortest route respecting the race instructions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\" alt=\"Course \" width=\"600\" height=\"531\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2><span lang=\"EN-US\">DEPARTURE<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lines casted off, let\u2019s go to the departure area to grab the last information from the committee boat. First of all, the route chosen by the committee has to be activated in Adrena. To do so, first, we indicate in the toolbar the type of course:<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\" alt=\"Tool box \" width=\"600\" height=\"78\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Then we validate the course to activate:<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"Activate course\" src=\"\" alt=\"Activate course\" width=\"600\" height=\"269\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">As they will be moored the same day, the last step consists in pointing the departure line and the windward buoy (if there is one) marks. Indeed, the windward buoy shall not be inserted into the course waypoints <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"Plotting Marks\" src=\"\" alt=\"Plotting Marks\" width=\"600\" height=\"331\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The course is wholly displayed on Adrena\u2019s chart, at the signal, it is only necessary to click on the button \u201cwarning signal\u201d to start the departure procedure:<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"Polar\" src=\"\" alt=\"Polar\" width=\"600\" height=\"284\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">REGATTA FOLLOW-UP<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Good start! The race is started, thanks to the course phase management, no additional action is necessary to follow the course, the screen is switching automatically on the actual phase of the race and the active waypoint\u2019s lay lines are displayed. A table of legs is giving precise data about the next leg, refreshing automatically the data according to the winds, the current\u2026 shifts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"298\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Current leg with the name of the next mark and the side to let.<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"95\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Calculated continuously by Adrena, the current enables to display both course on ground and true heading to follow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"middle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"127\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If some Sailects (sails ranges chart) are activated, the table will display the best sail configuration to wear for each leg.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em;\">The time indicated to reach the mark is divided in two tacks (port \u2013 starboard) if the wind angle doesn\u2019t allow a direct route.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The mark crossing is automatically detected by the software which is adapting the right display and the right data for each leg of the race, waypoint after waypoint.
