The giant of the seas, christened Orient Express Corinthian and launched end of April 2026, is officially the largest sailboat in the world. This unique vessel, with unprecedented dimensions of 220 metres (722 feet), has chosen ADRENA to optimize its navigation.
For the Adrena team, which has been working on this project for many months, it is a victory. It is a source of pride for Michel RODET, founder of the software company, which was established more than 20 years ago in Nantes: ‘After routing sailing ships in 2007 and then motor ships for the merchant navy in 2012, it is now our hybrid routing (sail + motor) that is recognised in the maritime world and used by more and more players in the market.’
The OE Corinthian, built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, is equipped with the innovative SolidSail propulsion system, consisting of three rigid sails, each measuring 1,500 m². These sails are hoisted on three tilting and rotating balestron rigs, allowing optimal for sailing close to the wind.
Adrena’s expertise focused upstream on a detailed study of the ship’s characteristics in order to quantify the contribution of sail propulsion to its journeys. This presented a real technical challenge for the teams: integrating the shipyard’s data into the modelling.
This revolutionary yacht, designed to offer a luxurious sea cruising experience, uses AdrenaShip software to optimize its sailing performance during operation. In other words, it reduces fuel consumption while meeting the schedule requirements of its itineraries.
The real advantage offered by Adrena in this project? Being able to provide a fully configurable routing solution that can operate offline.
The whole team wishes the Corinthian fair winds!
